Sindh CM vows efforts to ensure education to every child

He made these remarks while chairing a meeting on educational projects at the Chief Minister’s House here on Sunday, where officials reviewed the progress of school construction, rehabilitation and enrollment initiatives across Sindh. The meeting decided to activate newly constructed and reconstructed schools and launch an admission campaign to enroll children in these institutions.
Officials informed the meeting that 838 schools are being constructed, upgraded or renovated across Sindh with the support of the Asian Development Bank. Murad Ali Shah directed officials to prepare district-wise admission plans before the completion of the schools.
He also instructed that local representatives, community leaders and parents be involved in the enrollment campaign to encourage greater participation., the new schools are expected to create educational opportunities for approximately 250,000 children. A separate target has been set to enroll more than 221,000 children in schools located in flood-affected districts.

The meeting was further informed that, out of 116 new secondary schools, 64 are scheduled to be completed by December 2026, while the remaining 52 are expected to be completed by June 2027. In addition, 722 schools are being constructed under the flood rehabilitation programme.
The chief minister directed that every completed school must become fully functional from its first academic year. He also called for measurable targets covering enrollment, attendance, student retention and educational outcomes to ensure that the new facilities translate into improved access to education and better learning outcomes.
