Punjab announces waterfowl hunting season from October 1

Hunters will be required to comply with the limits on the number of birds specified in Schedule I of the Punjab Wildlife Act, 1974, as amended in 2025. The Wildlife Department said hunting beyond the prescribed limits would constitute an offence under the law and could result in a fine, imprisonment, or both.
Other restrictions stipulated in the relevant law, along with instructions issued from time to time, will also remain in force. The notification further prohibits hunting from a moving or occupied vehicle.
