NCCIA arrests 212 in international fraud probe after raids on 3 illegal Islamabad call centres

NCCIA is tasked with protecting digital infrastructure, enforcing cyber laws, and promoting cyber awareness and resilience. An official toldAPPthat the raids were conducted as part of a major operation against illegal call centres involved in different forms of online fraud.

The detained persons also included Pakistani women. Read More:Foreigners among 65 held in NCCIA raid. Due to the large number of detained suspects, the call centre premises were declared a sub-jail for further legal proceedings.
A case had been registered under relevant sections of law against 212 suspects, including seven Chinese nationals, while further investigation was underway to determine the network’s operations, financial links and the role of each suspect.
