Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has accused the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of promoting corruption in the province and leaving it at the mercy of terrorists, urging Chief Minister t…

Addressing a Parents' Day and Seeratun Nabi (PBUH) ceremony at Jamia Darul Huda in Hakimabad, Nowshera, as chief guest, the governor said the chief minister appeared more concerned about meeting former prime minister Imran Khan and arranging his treatment than addressing the province's security problems. "Two meetings have already taken place and doctors have declared him healthy.

The courts awarded the sentences, so what is their agenda now? " Kundi asked. He said PTI workers had distributed sweets when courts allowed meetings with Imran Khan, but now that courts had handed down sentences, those convicted would have to serve them.

The governor also criticised PTI claims that hospitals in K-P had been brought up to standards comparable with those in the United States and Britain. He questioned why the party was unwilling to have Imran Khan treated in K-P and instead wanted to send him abroad.

Kundi said his political differences with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman were well known, but added that he could not use against the JUI-F leader the language allegedly used by Imran Khan. Responding to a question, the governor said he was prepared to head the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) if the objective was to eliminate corruption from the province.

He alleged that corruption involving different provinces was rampant in K-P, while the people remained largely silent.
