PESHAWAR:The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on Monday unanimously passed a resolution expressing concern over the health of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf () founder Imran Khan and demanding that he be shifted to Al-Shifa Hospital for medical treatment. The resolution also called for allowing Imran Khan's personal doctors to conduct regular medical examinations and provide treatment so that his health could be monitored continuously and effectively. During a discussion on Imran Khan's health, treasury members Abdul Salam Afridi, Fazal Elahi, Shafiullah and Malik Adil, along with Sajjad Barkwal, said the Supreme Court had recently ordered that Imran Khan be shifted to Al-Shifa Hospital, but the federal government had not implemented the court's decision. They said failure to comply with a judicial order created the impression that the law of the jungle prevailed in the country

The resolution also called for allowing Imran Khan's personal doctors to conduct regular medical examinations and provide treatment so that his health could be monitored continuously and effectively.

During a discussion on Imran Khan's health, treasury members Abdul Salam Afridi, Fazal Elahi, Shafiullah and Malik Adil, along with Sajjad Barkwal, said the Supreme Court had recently ordered that Imran Khan be shifted to Al-Shifa Hospital, but the federal government had not implemented the court's decision.

They said failure to comply with a judicial order created the impression that the law of the jungle prevailed in the country.

They urged the judiciary to take suo motu notice of the matter and initiate contempt of court proceedings if necessary. Former speaker Mushtaq Ghani presented the resolution in the House.

It expressed serious concern over Imran Khan's health and demanded that he be provided complete medical facilities under the supervision of his personal physicians and be admitted to Al-Shifa Hospital for comprehensive treatment.

The resolution further demanded that Imran Khan's personal doctors be permitted to examine and treat him regularly to ensure effective and continuous monitoring of his health.

The House also called upon the federal government and relevant authorities to allow Imran Khan to meet his family regularly and without obstruction so that his relatives could remain informed about his health and wellbeing. Speaker put the resolution before the House for approval, and both treasury and opposition members supported it.

The resolution was subsequently passed unanimously. Assembly has approved amendments to the province's fiscal responsibility law, introducing stricter measures for financial discipline, debt management and fiscal transparency. The House passed the Fiscal Responsibility and Debt Management (Amendment) Bill 2026 after its approval by the relevant standing committee.

Provincial Law Minister Aftab Alam presented the bill in the Assembly, which subsequently approved it.
