Punjab has extended its ban on outdoor drone flights for another 30 days over security concerns, while limited indoor and authorized use for specific purposes remains permitted. LAHORE ( News) – The Punjab government has extended the ban on flying drones in open spaces across the province for another 30 days due to security concerns., the ban has been imposed under Section 144(6) of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898.
Under the order, the use of outdoor drones will remain prohibited, while limited use of small drones during events inside halls and marquees will be allowed.
However, event organizers will be responsible for ensuring their safe use. Intelligence and law enforcement agencies will remain exempt from the ban.

In addition, drones may be used for agricultural, irrigation and research purposes only after obtaining written permission from the district-level “Safe Drone Usage Committee.”, drone use for the relevant purposes will be considered exempt from the ban after written permission is granted by the committee. A Home Department spokesperson said public safety, maintenance of law and order and protection of property were the Punjab government’s top priorities.
Administrations and police across the province have been directed to ensure strict implementation of the orders.
