PPESHAWAR A rise in chikungunya cases has been reported in several villages of Ziarat Kaka Sahib area in Nowshera district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with dozens of patients seeking treatment at local hospitals every day. Sources said hospitals across Nowshera are reporting between 50 and 100 chikungunya cases daily, increasing pressure on medical facilities.

Despite the growing number of patients, shortages of medical staff and other essential facilities are reportedly causing difficulties for those seeking treatment. Residents of the affected areas have expressed serious concern over the situation and urged the government and health authorities to take immediate measures to contain the spread of the disease and ensure timely treatment for patients.

Local residents have also called for emergency measures in response to the rising number of cases. They demanded that hospitals be supplied with sufficient medicines, additional medical staff and other essential resources to provide timely and effective care and prevent further transmission of the disease.
