The news was confirmed by her mother, Monica Eggers, who revealed that the reality personality died on Thursday, 3 September, from acute liver failure after doctors were unable to keep her heart beating. Eggers had been admitted to hospital on September 1 after falling ill, marking the latest in a series of severe medical challenges.
In spring 2025, she survived a critical bout of pneumonia that progressed to sepsis and multiple organ failure, placing her on life support before making a recovery. More recently, she had suffered a mini-stroke in July and was recovering at home prior to her sudden decline this week.
