England, who had resumed at 248-9, were dismissed after 66.4 overs, with Gus Atkinson scoring 45 off 46 balls and Josh Tongue remaining unbeaten on 30. The pair put on 47 for the last wicket, helping England reach a respectable total after Pakistan had dominated the opening day.
Mohammad Abbas was Pakistan’s standout bowler, taking 4-73 in 20 overs, while Mohammad Ali claimed three wickets. Khurram Shahzad and Ali Usman took one wicket each. England had ended the rain-affected opening day at 248-9 after only 56 overs were possible.
Abbas had taken four wickets for 56 runs, while Ali picked up three. Jordan Cox top-scored for England with 55, while Jamie Smith made 61. Cox and Smith briefly rebuilt the innings before Shahzad dismissed Cox, while Ali removed Smith and Ollie Robinson in quick succession.

Earlier, Abbas struck twice in his opening spell to remove Emilio Gay and Ben Duckett before dismissing Joe Root for four. Ali later bowled Harry Brook for 15 as Pakistan’s disciplined pace attack kept England under pressure throughout the innings.
