The committee, headed by the Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), comprises the Director General of Capital Emergency Services, Capital Development Authority (CDA), Superintendent of Police (City); Assistant Commissioner (Industrial Area); Director General (E&M), CDA; and representatives of IESCO and PIMS. It may also co-opt any other member deemed necessary.
The committee has been tasked with determining the exact cause of the fire, assessing whether adequate and functional fire-safety measures were in place, and evaluating the response time and effectiveness of rescue and firefighting operations. It will also examine any other matter it considers relevant to the incident.
The district administration directed the committee to submit its report within 24 hours.
