K-P CM prepares to tour 13 Punjab cities

The planned mobilisation comes amid a crackdown on PTI workers, with the party alleging that police are conducting raids and detaining workers to prevent them from participating in the protest. by PTI Central Punjab, Afridi will begin his Punjab tour on September 13 from Daud Khel and travel through Mianwali, Wan Bachran, Quaidabad, Khushab and Sargodha before proceeding through Lalian and Chiniot to Faisalabad, where he will stay overnight.
On September 14, the procession will travel from Faisalabad through Shahkot and Sheikhupura before reaching Lahore. The PTI said CM Afridi would be accompanied by provincial ministers and party leaders. In Lahore, the K-P chief minister is scheduled to meet the Punjab Assembly opposition leaders, members of the provincial assembly and other party leaders.
He will also be briefed on preparations for the September 27 protest. The route plan shows the mobilisation drive linking Mianwali, Khushab and Sargodha with Faisalabad and Lahore as the party seeks to mobilise workers and supporters for the September 27 call.

Ahead of the mobilisation drive, Lahore police have begun door-to-door visits to the homes of more than 450 active PTI workers and are obtaining undertakings from some of them that they will not create a law-and-order situation.
Police sources said 122 homes were visited in the Sadar division, 111 in Model Town, 142 in Cantonment and 77 in Civil Lines areas of Punjab's provincial capital. Several workers have reportedly gone into hiding fearing arrest,.
Police officials said those found attempting to create a law-and-order situation would be arrested. PTI, 54 workers from six districts of southern Punjab have been arrested. The list includes three workers from Dera Ghazi Khan, eight from Rajanpur, five from Vehari, 10 from Layyah, 18 from Multan and 10 from Khanewal.
The party has also claimed that 106 workers have been detained in the Rawalpindi division, including 31 from Rawalpindi, 35 from Attock, two from Chakwal, 13 from Jhelum and four from Wah Cantt.
The PTI has further claimed that dozens of workers have been detained under orders issued by deputy commissioners under the Maintenance of Public Order (3-MPO) law, with some allegedly being held for a month at Adiala Jail.
PTI leader Shaukat Basra, in a post on X, claimed that more than 200 southern Punjab party officials and workers were still being held at police stations without their arrests being formally shown. He alleged that the government had effectively turned the province into a prison ahead of Sept 27.
