    The development comes after Nawaznominated. Shah Ghulam Qadir as the party’s candidate for the top office in AJK on Tuesday after PML-N secured a majority in the AJK elections held in three phases between July 27 and August 10.

    Of the 45 directly contested constituencies, polling was held in 38, with the PML-N securing 25 seats and the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) winning 12.

    Qadir was nominated for the premier’s post following a four-hour-long consultation with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz in Lahore last week. On Tuesday, party sources confirmed that Qadir would be the next PM and would take the oath on Thursday at 5pm at High Court Ground in Muzaffarabad.
