Pakistan, UK agree to strengthen cooperation across all sectors

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held delegation-level talks with the British foreign secretary in London. During the meeting, the British side appreciated Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts and its role in promoting peace and stability in the Middle East.
The two sides also exchanged views on the regional security situation and the Indus Waters Treaty. Ishaq Dar expressed concern over what he described as India’s continued violations of its international obligations. The deputy prime minister also highlighted the security challenges Pakistan faces because of terrorism emanating from Afghanistan and conveyed Islamabad’s concerns over the threat.
Separately, Dar met British National Security Adviser Jonathan Powell in London. During the meeting, he reaffirmed that Pakistan would continue its diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions and working towards a mutually acceptable solution to regional disputes.
