PPESHAWAR —Pakistan Peoples Party Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Mohammad Ali Shah Bacha criticised PTI on Wednesday, saying the party was focusing on political activities and Imran Khan’s narrative instead of addressing terrorism, law and order, corruption, development and governance issues in the province.

Addressing a press conference in Peshawar, Mohammad Ali Shah Bacha said PTI leaders were visiting different districts of the province, with plans to travel to Charsadda and Bajaur after setting up camp in their home constituencies, while visits to other areas were also being planned.

He said other political parties could neither hold rallies, protests nor public gatherings in districts where PTI leadership was visiting, and questioned who was ultimately suffering because of the situation.

The PPP leader said the province was facing terrorism, law and order concerns, governance problems and corruption, but instead of focusing on these issues, PTI was allegedly misleading young people and creating hatred and divisions among them.

Mohammad Ali Shah Bacha said the condition of the province was evident to everyone, with employment and development declining while funerals were being held daily and security forces and police personnel were being martyred. He said the people had elected PTI representatives after placing their trust in them, but they had still failed to deliver.

The PPP provincial president said PTI’s statements gave the impression that the PPP or the government was attempting political interference or a change in the province. He said if PTI believed that the government wanted to impose an emergency or governor’s rule in KP, the question was why it would want to do so.

He urged PTI to focus on eliminating terrorism, promoting development, ending corruption and addressing governance issues in the province.
