    MMUZAFFARABAD The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly on Monday unanimously adopted a resolution rejecting reported remarks by a US envoy describing Kashmir as part of India.

    The resolution was moved by Latif Akbar during a session of the legislative assembly and secured unanimous approval from lawmakers., the state of Jammu and Kashmir is not part of India and remains a disputed territory under relevant United Nations resolutions, with its final status yet to be determined in accordance with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

    The assembly strongly objected to the reported statement attributed to the US envoy and declared that such remarks carried no standing with regard to the internationally disputed status of the territory.
