Iran's semi-official Tasnim news agency ?said on Saturday initial reports indicated ‌that two missiles had struck Qeshm Island, adding there was no official information on ?possible damage.

Tasnim said further details would ?be released once relevant authorities confirmed ?the incident. It said the Qatari prime minister had ?affirmed that both sides continue ?to ?work toward an agreement.

The statement added that Qatar’s mediation efforts are ongoing, in ?close ?coordination with Washington and ? Tehran, to support the negotiations. Updated On:Sat, 07 Nov 2026 08:38:06 PKTTrump administration divided over next move in Iran war.

Senior officials in US President Donald Trump's administration are reportedly at odds over the next course of action in the conflict with Iran, with one camp advocating a diplomatic resolution while others favour restarting military operations,. Vice President JD Vance and US envoy Steve Witkoff are said to be supporting negotiations aimed at bringing the conflict to an end.

However, Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth and other hardline figures are reportedly in favour of launching further military strikes against Tehran. The differences within the administration have reportedly become more pronounced following Republican setbacks in the US midterm elections.

The Iran conflict has sent tanker rates soaring, forcing sellers to deepen discounts on heavy crude grades and giving US Gulf Coast refiners a cost advantage over Asian rivals, executives said after reporting bumper third-quarter profits.

Security threats around the Strait of Hormuz, a key maritime chokepoint through which about one-fifth of global oil ‌and liquefied natural gas supplies passed before the war started, have disrupted tanker traffic, while higher war-risk insurance premiums and longer voyages have driven up shipping costs.

Updated On:Sat, 07 Nov 2026 08:32:06 PKTUS Treasury sanctions Canadian money services firms over Iran-related transactions. The US Treasury said on Friday that it had imposed financial sanctions on eight money services firms ‌based in Canada that it alleges have facilitated transactions with sanctioned Iranian entities, Reuters reported.

The sanctions effectively cut the firms off from the dollar-based financial system, blocking any assets that the firms may have in the United States and prohibiting any transactions with US persons or entities.

The actions are the latest in a series of Treasury moves against firms outside the United States that it says help Iran get around US sanctions, as Washington keeps up pressure on Tehran.

"Canada cannot be a safe haven for illicit financial facilitators that provide sanctions evasion services to the Iranian regime and its proxies,” said Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent.

“Treasury will pursue and disrupt the Iranian regime’s financial channels anywhere in the world.”Updated On:Sat, 07 Nov 2026 08:31:02 PKTSyria aids Saudi Arabia with military advice and training amid Houthi attacks, sources say.

Syria is aiding Riyadh with military advice and training as Saudi Arabia comes under attack by Yemen's Houthis, and has sent a limited number of military personnel to the kingdom, two Syrian military sources and a senior US official said.

Saudi Arabia has ‌been locked in worsening hostilities with the Houthis since July, when the Yemen war was reignited by the wider conflict in the Middle East, leading Riyadh to seek both defensive and offensive support from a range of allies.
