The song has now accumulated 52 weeks on the chart, although its run has not been consecutive. Originally released in April 2017, Sign of the Times debuted at No. 1 before eventually leaving the chart.
It returned years later following its appearance in the 2026 film Project Hail Mary and has remained on the ranking since April. The renewed success has also seen Sign of the Times climb to No. 19 on this week’s Official Singles Chart, its highest position since June 2017.
The track has also reached No. 47 on the Official Streaming Chart. The resurgence comes as Styles continues his Together, Together Tour and promotes his fourth studio album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally.

The singer initially planned a smaller run of shows in 2026 but expanded the tour following strong demand. The tour is expected to include at least 107 dates once its 2027 leg is completed. Sign of the Times has also been performing strongly internationally.
Earlier in September, the song climbed to a new peak of No. 41 on the Billboard Global 200 and held its No. 37 peak on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart. The song’s renewed chart performance adds another milestone to Styles’ solo career.
His catalogue has continued to find an audience alongside his latest release, with Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally. also maintaining a presence on the UK charts. The album sits at No. 34 on the latest Official Albums Chart and No. 26 on the Official Albums Streaming Chart.
Styles released Sign of the Times shortly after One Direction went on hiatus, making it his first major release as a solo artist. Nearly a decade later, the song is once again gaining momentum on charts in the UK and around the world.
