Foreign Ministry spokesman. Guo Jiakun said Beijingwas ready to maintain exchanges with Washington, responding to a question from an Anadolu correspondent at a news conference. “This is an important pathway for global AI for good and for all,” he said.

The first talks are scheduled for November. “We are ready to maintain exchanges with the US through the artificial intelligence intergovernmental dialogue,” Guo said.

He described the engagement as part of building a “constructive China-US relationship of strategic stability” based on “respect, fairness and reciprocity.”The framework aims to facilitate exchanges on AI’s risks and benefits and establish a bilateral communication channel for AI-related incidents.
Bessent, future discussions could also address protocols for responding to critical threats, including uncontrollable autonomous AI agents and the spread of cyber and biological weapons capabilities to non-state actors.
