A viral video allegedly showing Khawaja Asif comparing Pakistan with India has been declared fake by the Ministry of Information, which says AI-generated audio was used. LAHORE ( News) – A video of Defence Minister Khawaja Asif is rapidly circulating on social media, allegedly showing him comparing Pakistan’s economic and political situation with that of India.

However, government-level investigations and fact-checking have confirmed that the video and its audio are completely fake and were generated using artificial intelligence.

The nearly one-minute video being shared on social media appears to show Khawaja Asif addressing a press conference, while background audio creates the impression that he is saying Pakistan and India gained independence at the same time but have since developed at different levels. This news is FAKE and the voice in video is AI generated.

Fsi. YkK— Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (@MoIB_Official)August 24, 2026The audio further claims that India has strengthened itself in technology, infrastructure and the economy, while Pakistan has fallen behind, and allegedly urges the public to question the country’s current situation.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting issued a fact-check of the video through its official X account, declaring it completely “fake.”The ministry clarified that the voice heard in the video does not belong to Defence Minister Khawaja Asif and was instead created using computer software and audio-cloning techniques.

Khawaja Asif did not actually make any such statement or hold a press conference in which he made the remarks attributed to him.

The video was edited by taking footage from an old press conference and fitting artificially generated audio over it.
