Dinusha emerged as a leading contender after an outstanding series against India in Sri Lanka as part of the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27. Despite Sri Lanka losing the two-match series 1-0, the batting all-rounder scored 420 runs at an average of 140.
The 25-year-old struck three centuries and a half-century during the series. He scored his maiden Test century in the opening match before following it with an 84-run innings. In the second Test, he scored 103 and an unbeaten 133 to play a key role in helping Sri Lanka secure a draw.
Robinson also enjoyed a remarkable month, claiming 16 wickets in two Tests against Pakistan at an average of 7.18. His performances helped England take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. The England pacer produced career-best figures of 8-80 in the first Test at Headingley as England secured an innings victory over Pakistan.

He then delivered another exceptional performance at Lord’s, taking eight wickets for just 35 runs. Bangladesh’s Hasan Mahmud earned his nomination following an impressive display against Australia in a two-Test away series. Mahmud played a key role in Bangladesh’s historic nine-wicket victory in the opening Test at the Marrara Oval in Darwin.
The 26-year-old claimed 6-55 in Australia’s first innings and followed it with 3-56 in the second. Although he went wicketless in the second Test in Mackay, which Australia won by an innings and 51 runs, his match-winning performance in the series opener earned him a place among the three nominees for the August award.
