Sindh Rangers, CTD kill wanted TTP-linked terrorist in Karachi

Fitna al-Khawarijis the state-designated term for the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan., the operation was carried out based on intelligence reports about the presence of the terrorist in the Gulbai area of Sher Shah. The deceased terrorist was identified as Qari Ziaur Rehman alias Qari Saifullah, who belonged to Bajaur, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P). Weapons and ammunition were recovered from him, he added.
The Rangers spokesperson said, "Rehman had been highly wanted by law enforcement agencies for his involvement in multiple attacks on Pakistan Army and Frontier Corps camps, as well as other acts of terrorism"., he had joined the Qari Darvesh alias Bandiwan group of. Qari Ziaur Rehman had been involved in an attack on a Pakistan Army camp in Bajaur in 2007, along with several other attacks, the spokesperson added. He had fled to Afghanistan during an army operation in 2012, where he later received further training at a camp in Bandhar Dara, Nangarhar, the statement said.
The Rangers said he had subsequently been involved in several attacks on Pakistani posts along the Afghan border. Rehman had recently moved from Afghanistan to Karachi and was organising a network to carry out terrorist activities at sensitive locations in the city, the spokesperson concluded.

Under the resolution, the Rangers’ deployment was extended from July 20, 2026 to July 19, 2027 to assist the civil administration under Article 147 of the Constitution.
The assembly said the extension was necessary because of the province’s law and order situation. It credited Rangers operations with helping reduce target killings and street crime, while warning that activities by proscribed organisations and absconding suspects continued to pose security threats.
The resolution also said the Rangers’ presence was necessary to protect public peace and the lives and property of citizens. It added that the force had played an important role in intelligence-based operations carried out in coordination with police.
On June 27, armed terrorists attempted to storm a Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) camp in Karachi after detonating explosives at its main gate. ’s media wing, Rangers personnel repelled theattack, killing three attackers and capturing a fourth in an injured condition. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said three Rangers personnel were killed and four others wounded during the exchange of fire.
