    DIG Raza said that the inquiry would examine the reasons for registration of the case and the facts surrounding the matter, while Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Investigation South would conduct the probe. The investigating police said the case challan had not yet been submitted and that sections relating to snatching and theft had been removed from the case.

    He said a “disgraceful post” had described a girl of his daughter’s age as his wife and alleged that a deliberate attempt had been made to malign his character by associating the video with him.

    “I will take legal action against those elements who circulated the video by associating it with me,” he said, adding that he had contacted National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) officials.
