ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has begun inspecting telecom towers across the country to assess backup power arrangements and help ensure uninterrupted mobile phone services during load-shedding., inspection teams are visiting telecom towers in urban and rural areas of different cities to assess the performance of batteries, generators and solar power systems.
Inspections are under way in several zones, including Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Quetta, Abbottabad and Peshawar. Teams are also assessing the availability of mobile signals and services in areas affected by power outages. The PTA said local representatives were accompanying its teams to identify locations where mobile signals become weak or services become unavailable following power interruptions.
The authority said the performance of alternative power systems was being monitored to help maintain uninterrupted telecommunications services for consumers. PTA Chairman has directed zonal offices to continue regular inspections of telecom towers and ensure that backup power arrangements remain operational.

The authority said the ongoing exercise was aimed at identifying service gaps caused by load-shedding and improving the reliability of mobile connectivity in affected areas.
