In a post on X, the minister stated: "Under the Senate's seat allocation for the Electoral Reforms Committee, the PML-N, PPP and PTI will each receive two seats". Chaudhry added that the Awami National Party (ANP), Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), National Party and Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) would also be allocated one seat each in the Electoral Reforms Committee.

The minister also noted that Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar would make the final decision on the committee members after consultations with the opposition, ruling coalition parties and relevant parliamentary leadership.

Bilawal stated that if parliament had decided to form an Electoral Reforms Committee, Achakzai should exercise his authority as leader of the opposition to nominate members and submit their names to the speaker's office. A delegation from the PPP met with Achakzai in the National Assembly to invite the opposition leader to join the parliamentary committee on electoral reforms.
