IISLAMABAD —Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide and conveyed Pakistan’s heartfelt condolences over the death of King Harald V of Norway., Ishaq Dar expressed condolences to the royal family and the people of Norway on behalf of the President, Prime Minister, Field Marshal, himself and the people of Pakistan.
The deputy prime minister informed the Norwegian foreign minister that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has nominated Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan to represent Pakistan at the funeral of King Harald V, scheduled to be held in Oslo on September 9.
King Harald V died at the age of 89, while his funeral will take place in Oslo on September 9. Ishaq Dar and Espen Barth Eide agreed to maintain close contact between the two countries and also expressed a desire to meet on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly session.
