Speaking to senior journalists, Afridi invited the federal government to engage in negotiations, noting that seven days remained before the planned long march. “If you want to hold talks, then do it now. If negotiations are going to take place later as well, why not hold them now?” he said.
Afridi said he had been ready for dialogue in the past and remained willing to negotiate. “We were ready for talks yesterday, and we are ready today. We have never backed away from negotiations,” he said.

“That is why we were compelled to give the call for September 27,” he said. Afridi urged the authorities to use the remaining seven days before the march to resolve the matter through negotiations. He also said that the country was being run “one-man policy,” whose representative, he claimed, is Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
