Furnace-oil-based power plants were also brought into operation during the peak period to meet the country's electricity demand. The spokesperson said the temporary load management would be reduced as soon as the RLNG cargoes arrived.
Electricity consumers were urged to moderate their power consumption during the night-time peak hours so that load management could be kept to a minimum. The Power Division clarified that no load management was being carried out during daytime hours.
However, areas where load management was being undertaken because of high distribution losses were being supplied electricity. The Power Division apologised for the temporary load management during the night hours caused by the non-availability of RLNG.
