LLAHORE —Pakistani film actress Laila has said she gave up work she believed was against Allah’s will around eight years ago, while discussing her personal life, aspirations and showbiz career on a reality show.
Laila, who has been associated with the showbiz industry since the 1990s, spoke about various aspects of her personal life, ambitions and career during the programme. During the conversation, the actress also discussed some of her performances from the past that she no longer considers appropriate.
Speaking about her bold performances on the reality show, Laila said she decided around eight years ago to leave behind work that, in her view, was against the will of Allah.

The actress also said she was praying to win the reality show as she wanted to use the prize money to fulfil her dream of buying a house and a large car. Following the broadcast of Laila’s remarks, social media users expressed mixed reactions.
Some praised her current thinking and personal transformation rather than focusing on her past, while others criticised some of her statements. One social media user said Laila’s conversation did not appear artificial and prayed that Allah would accept her prayers.
Another user expressed good wishes for the actress and said they hoped Laila would win the reality show because she had expressed her wish sincerely. However, some people also criticised Laila for repeatedly discussing her difficulties and experiences from the past.
