Gillespie claimed that the Pakistan team is playing with fear and that there appears to be no clear selection strategy in place.
The former coach said Javed changes his decisions on a daily basis and pointed out that he has served as chief selector for the past two years., Javed has blamed him and former Pakistan white-ball head coach Gary Kirsten for the team’s current predicament despite both having left their roles some time ago.

Gillespie further alleged that some players who were dropped from the team learned about their exclusion through family members, friends and the media rather than being informed directly by the authorities.
He described the failure to communicate such decisions directly to players as “extremely disrespectful,” stressing that players deserve to be treated with greater professionalism and respect when decisions are made about their futures.
