    MMUZAFFARABAD —Azad Jammu and Kashmir Police officials in Kotli have claimed that certain elements planned to disrupt law and order and paralyse routine life in the city under the guise of a protest. Addressing a news conference, police officials said meetings were held in different districts as part of the alleged plan.

    They said arrangements were made at a meeting in Kotli to provide weapons, transportation and local facilitators to the suspected elements., pistols and other weapons were recovered from eight suspects arrested in connection with the case.

    Police said the suspects carried out an action at Kala Dabb, during which a police constable was seriously injured and was fighting for his life at a hospital in Rawalpindi. Post commander Naeem was also injured during the incident.

    The officials said police responded to the action, cleared the road and brought the situation under control., further information emerged during interrogation of the arrested suspects, on the basis of which additional action would be taken.     However, they said certain sensitive details could not be disclosed until the completion of the investigation. Police maintained that the arrested individuals were allegedly attempting to disrupt normal life under the guise of a protest.

    The officials warned that any attempt to disturb law and order would be dealt with.
