Parliament real forum for debate on new provinces: Rana Sanaullah

On the establishment of provinces and the ongoing debate in this regard, Rana Sanaullah said that the meeting between Mohsin Naqvi and President Asif Ali Zardari is not of any extraordinary importance, as the two meet daily. He said that the real place for discussion is the parliament.

If the issue of provinces is to be discussed now, a new resolution will have to be passed. The old resolutions of the Punjab Assembly have now become ineffective, while the resolutions regarding the formation of Bahawalpur and Multan as provinces are also no longer effective.

The Prime Minister's Adviser said that people make different statements every day, not every statement can be answered. Sharjeel Memon has also made a long statement, now it is not possible to run after every statement.

Rana Sanaullah said that a public referendum will not be held based on a statement by a minister, but rather the approval of parliament is necessary for the referendum. He said when this debate comes up in Parliament, the government will present its full position.

Rana Sanaullah said that the mouths of those who are making statements cannot be silenced, but whatever decision is made in parliament, it will be moved forward with consensus. Supporting Maryam Nawaz's statement, he said that Maryam Nawaz has spoken absolutely correctly, those who are wearing the glasses of prejudice do not understand the real situation.

Regarding terrorist incidents in Punjab, the Prime Minister's Adviser said that terrorist incidents have been occurring in the province and the terrorists involved in them came from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Rana Sanaullah said that Afghans and elements fleeing from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been targeting Punjab, and the biggest threat to Punjab comes from these elements.

He further said that the threat identified by the Punjab Chief Minister is correct, however, some people are unable to understand the truth of the Chief Minister's statement due to prejudice.
