    IISLAMABAD Western winds have entered Pakistan, prompting the Meteorological Department to forecast rain in various parts of the country from today, with the final spell of monsoon rains expected to begin after noon., Islamabad, Rawalpindi and adjoining areas are likely to receive heavy rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms during the spell.

    Rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms is also expected in Murree, Galiyat, Kashmir and the upper areas of Gilgit-Baltistan. The department has forecast that rainfall will make the weather colder and cooler in the upper regions., several districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa may also receive heavy rainfall.

    These areas include Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Battagram, Peshawar, Nowshera, Abbottabad and Mansehra. Various areas of Punjab, including Jhelum, Chakwal, Attock, Sialkot and Gujrat, are also expected to receive rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms.
