Punjab forms high-powered committee to review Hina Javed murder case

Lahore DIG Shoaib Khurram and Rawalpindi SSP Investigation Saifullah are also part of the committee. The committee will conduct a fresh review of the investigation and is expected to visit Rawalpindi this week. During the visit, its members will inspect the crime scene and examine the progress made in the case so far.
Sources said the Rawalpindi police had received forensic reports related to the case, including the final post-mortem report. The committee has also contacted Hina Javed’s family as part of its review. Hina Javed was allegedly murdered at her home on August 21.
A case was registered at the Civil Lines police station, with her husband Faisal Asghar and domestic worker Zeeshan Arshad nominated in the case. Both suspects are currently on judicial remand at Adiala Jail.

The victim’s family had previously raised concerns over the Rawalpindi police investigation and sent letters to the parliamentary caucus committee and the National Commission for Human Rights.
