Yemen security situation worsens as defence minister's convoy attacked

Conflicting reports have emerged regarding the minister’s fate, including claims that he may have been abducted or taken hostage. However, the incident and the minister’s condition have not been independently confirmed. Meanwhile, reports have also emerged about another defence minister, Mohammed Nasser, associated with the Houthi rebels.
Yemeni forces reportedly targeted a Houthi position in the western Al-Barh area of Taiz province on Wednesday, killing several Houthi commanders,. There has been no official confirmation so far regarding Mohammed Nasser’s death or survival.
The latest developments come amid an already tense security situation in Yemen, where rival authorities and armed groups continue to operate in different parts of the country.
