The price of high-speed diesel has risen by Rs5.28 per litre to Rs403.32. The new prices will take effect from September 12, 2026, and remain applicable for three days,. The latest adjustment comes a day after the government announced another increase in petroleum prices.
On Thursday, petrol had been raised by Rs3.05 per litre, while diesel became Rs5.37 more expensive per litre. The successive increases have pushed the prices of both major fuels sharply higher within a short period.
Under the latest notification, petrol will now be sold at Rs375.82 per litre, compared with its previous rate after Thursday's increase, while diesel has moved above the Rs400 mark for the first time in the latest round of adjustments. The revised prices are scheduled to remain in force through September 14, after which the government may announce another adjustment.
