PM Shehbaz meets Prince Rahim Aga Khan, hails commitment to shared development goals

The prime minister warmly welcomed Prince Rahim and fondly recalled their meeting during the Aga Khan’s visit to Pakistan earlier this year. Shehbaz Sharif appreciated Prince Rahim’s commitment to maintaining longstanding friendly and positive relations with Pakistan and continuing close cooperation to advance shared objectives of peace, stability and development.

The prime minister also lauded the longstanding contributions of the Ismaili community to Pakistan’s socioeconomic development, particularly its tradition of service to society and civic engagement.

He appreciated the valuable services of institutions affiliated with the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) in promoting financial inclusion and tourism, while stressing the importance of fully benefiting from opportunities for further cooperation in these areas. Prince Rahim Aga Khan expressed gratitude for the prime minister’s warm sentiments and appreciated his efforts for regional peace and stability.

He reaffirmed his commitment to further strengthening the longstanding partnership between Pakistan and AKDN.He also expressed his desire to continue and expand cooperation in human development initiatives, particularly in healthcare, education, climate resilience and sustainable socioeconomic development.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also invited Prince Rahim Aga Khan to make regular visits to Pakistan to further deepen the longstanding bonds of friendship and cooperation.
