“Marvel Studios is bringing the X-Men into the Marvel Cinematic Universe with a new generation of mutants, and the upcoming reboot is already attracting attention with its star-studded cast. Directed by…”

Directed by Jake Schreier, the untitled X-Men film will introduce several familiar Marvel Comics characters through a fresh lineup of actors, including Sadie Sink, Kit Connor, Samara Weaving and Adam Driver. The film is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on May 5, 2028, following Avengers: Secret Wars.

Sadie Sink will portray Jean Grey, one of the most powerful mutants in the X-Men universe. Known for her telepathic and telekinetic abilities, Jean has played a central role in some of the franchise's biggest comic book storylines, particularly the Dark Phoenix Saga.

Sink, best known for Stranger Things, has already made her MCU debut as the character in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Joining her is Heartstopper star Kit Connor as Scott Summers, better known as Cyclops. The character is one of the founding members of the X-Men and is recognised for his ability to fire powerful energy beams from his eyes.

Cyclops uses a specially designed visor to control his abilities and eventually becomes one of the team's most important leaders. Christopher Abbott will take on the role of Professor Charles Xavier, the founder of the X-Men and the head of Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters.

The powerful telepath is dedicated to helping young mutants understand their abilities while advocating for peaceful coexistence between humans and mutants. Meanwhile, Ready or Not actress Samara Weaving has been cast as Emma Frost, also known as the White Queen.

Emma is a powerful telepath who can transform her body into organic diamond, making her one of the more formidable characters in the franchise. Although initially introduced as an antagonist in the comics, she eventually becomes an important member of the X-Men.

Inde Navarrette will portray Rogue, a mutant whose ability allows her to absorb another person's powers, memories and abilities through physical contact. Her powers can make ordinary interactions dangerous, giving the character a complicated relationship with her abilities.

Maya Boyd has also joined the cast as Ororo Munroe, better known as Storm. One of the most recognisable X-Men characters, Storm can manipulate weather and control natural elements, including lightning and wind. Boyd's casting marks a major opportunity for the actress, who previously built her career in theatre.

On the villainous side, Adam Driver will play Nathaniel Milbury, better known as Mister Sinister. The geneticist is obsessed with mutant evolution and conducts experiments involving mutant DNA. His complicated history and interest in the genetic potential of characters such as Jean Grey and Cyclops could make him a significant threat in the upcoming film.

The cast also includes Asa Germann as Angel, a mutant with wings who can fly, while Ben Wang is in talks to portray Bobby Drake, better known as Iceman. The latter possesses the ability to generate and manipulate ice.

If finalised, Wang's casting would complete the original five-member X-Men lineup from Marvel Comics. The new film will follow several previous live-action adaptations of the franchise, including the original trilogy starring Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart and Ian Mc.

Kellen, as well as the prequel films featuring James Mc. Avoy, Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence. With the upcoming reboot, Marvel is preparing to establish the mutants as an integral part of its cinematic universe.

Although plot details remain under wraps, the film is expected to introduce a younger generation of superheroes while exploring the themes of identity, discrimination and acceptance that have long defined the X-Men stories.
