    LLAHORE Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif met members of the provincial assembly from Dera Ghazi Khan to discuss the political situation, law and order, public concerns and ongoing development projects in their constituencies. The meeting was attended by Ahmed Khan Leghari, Ali Ahmed Leghari, Usama Abdul Karim, Hanif Pitafi, Usama Leghari and Salahuddin Khan.

    The chief minister directed the lawmakers to ensure close monitoring of development schemes underway in their respective constituencies. The MPAs congratulated Maryam Nawaz on her successful visit to China and appreciated the launch of the electrobus service in Dera Ghazi Khan.

    They described the service as a “game changer” for the city and said residents were grateful for its introduction. The lawmakers also said that the law and order situation in Dera Ghazi Khan had improved under the chief minister's policies.

    They particularly highlighted improved security in the riverine, or Kacha, areas, calling it an indication of better governance in Punjab. During the meeting, Maryam Nawaz said her visit to China was aimed at making Punjab a hub for artificial intelligence.

    She also said modern treatment methods for the diagnosis of cancer and other diseases, based on Chinese models, would soon be introduced in Punjab. The chief minister said she was pleased to see people travelling on electric buses in Dera Ghazi Khan.

    She added that, for the first time, major development projects on the model of Lahore were being initiated in other areas as well. Maryam Nawaz said projects involving roads, drainage, water supply and beautification were underway in Dera Ghazi Khan and other cities of the province.
