A gunman opened fire inside and outside a home before dying from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, ABC News reported, citing authorities. "This is one of the most difficult and heartbreaking scenes our officers and investigators have ever encountered," Police Chief Rick Lorah said.

The motive for the shooting remains unknown, and investigators are working to establish the circumstances leading up to the attack. Governor Josh Shapiro said he offered his administration's "full support" to Erie Mayor Daria Devlin.
