The powers and responsibilities of the mayor, deputy mayor, chairman, and vice chairman will be clarified. A resolution of no confidence against the chairman and vice chairman will be passed by a two-thirds majority, it has been suggested.
The outgoing representative will continue to work as the administrator until the newly elected mayor or chairman takes office. It was also suggested to improve coordination between local councils and provincial departments. The Sindh Assembly has passed the Provincial Motor Vehicle Amendment Bill 2026.
Excise and Taxation Minister Mukesh Kumar Chawla said a fine was imposed on a vehicle that was not registered within a month, but now there will be no fine for a vehicle parked in the showroom for six months. The provincial assembly also passed an amendment bill to the Sindh Excise Act.
