“The first two Dune films are set to return to IMAX theatres next month, giving fans another chance to experience Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi saga on the big screen ahead of the highly anticipated third …”

Warner Bros has announced that Dune (2021) and Dune: Part Two (2024) will return to IMAX for a limited theatrical run beginning November 13. The screenings will also include an exclusive sneak peek of Dune: Part Three, which is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on December 18.

The two films will be shown as a double feature on November 13, while additional screenings of each film are planned from November 14 to 18. Tickets for the re-releases go on sale on October 30 through Fandango, IMAX and participating cinema websites.

The announcement comes as anticipation builds for Dune: Part Three, which will continue the story of Paul Atreides following his rise to power on Arrakis. Timothée Chalamet will return as Paul, alongside Zendaya as Chani.

The cast includes returning stars Rebecca Ferguson, Florence Pugh, Javier Bardem and Anya Taylor-Joy, while Jason Momoa is also returning to the franchise.

Momoa’s son, Nakoa-Wolf Momoa, will play Leto II Atreides, one of Paul and Chani’s twin children, with Ida Brooke playing Ghanima. Directed by Villeneuve, the first Dune film was released in 2021 and earned six Academy Awards from 10 nominations.

Its 2024 sequel grossed more than $700 million worldwide and won two Oscars. The IMAX re-release offers audiences an opportunity to revisit the first two films before the story concludes with Dune: Part Three, which is scheduled to open in cinemas on December 18, 2026.
