LLAHORE —Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf has responded to criticism of his bowling, saying he is not bothered by negative comments and will continue working to improve his performance. Speaking to the media in Lahore, Rauf said batters hit sixes against bowlers around the world, not just him.

He said he had never been afraid of criticism in the past and would not be intimidated by it in the future, adding that it did not affect him. The national cricketer said he would continue working on his game and expressed confidence that he and his teammates would keep playing cricket.

Discussing his role alongside Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah, Rauf said their primary objective was to take wickets and help Pakistan win matches. He added that all players in the team were supporting one another and said Shaheen’s presence was beneficial for Pakistan’s bowling attack.

Speaking about his performance in the tri-nation series, Rauf described successfully defending a target of 300 runs as a positive development. However, he said teams in modern cricket needed to develop the ability to score 350 or more runs and defend such totals.

Rauf also highlighted the importance of taking wickets during the middle overs, saying batting approaches had changed worldwide and bowlers needed to adapt their strategies accordingly. He emphasised that fast bowling continued to play a crucial role in modern cricket and said he would keep working on his fitness and pace to deliver better performances in upcoming matches.
