Two other men wounded in the same incident remain under treatment. Irshad Fakhruddin Kazi sustained a bullet wound to the chest during the October 7 incident in Noorani Basti, allegedly involving DSP Muhammad Ashraf Qureshi of the Sindh Police Highway Patrol (SPHP).

The dispute reportedly erupted after Kazi's nephew parked his motorcycle in a street where the two families reside. Afaq Ishaq Rajput, a passerby, and Kamran Babu Hashmi, a neighbour, also suffered gunshot wounds to the leg and back, respectively.

The DSP, who was reportedly in uniform at the time, was arrested shortly after the incident, and police recovered the weapon. On Thursday, an anti-terrorism court in Hyderabad granted police four days' physical remand of the accused.

Muhammad Waqas Kazi, brother of the deceased, lodged an FIR at Pinyari police station, nominating the DSP and his two official gunmen. The case was registered under Sections 324, 354 and 504 of the Pakistan Penal Code and Sections 6 and 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997.

Section 302 of the PPC, relating to murder, is expected to be added following Kazi's death. The deceased's two minor daughters demanded capital punishment for the accused, while some neighbours also voiced similar demands, alleging high-handed behaviour by the DSP and his family in the area.
