    LLAHORE National cricketers Imam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Rizwan, who were dropped from the Pakistan squad during the England tour after the third Test, have been assigned new responsibilities in domestic cricket,., Imam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Rizwan have been included in the teams selected for the President’s Trophy Grade-I and Cup.

    Imam-ul-Haq, who is reportedly facing an inquiry, has been appointed captain of Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), while wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan has been named vice-captain of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL). It may be recalled that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has not imposed any ban on either player so far.

    Meanwhile, national ODI team captain Shaheen Shah Afridi will represent Khan Research Laboratories (KRL), while Shan Masood will lead Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL). Salman Ali Agha will serve as vice-captain of Kingsmen Academy, while Haris Rauf will represent Pakistan Television (PTV).

    The tournament will begin on September 12, while the final will be played from October 24 to 28, 2026. PCB Inquiry Into National Team. The Pakistan Cricket Board has launched an inquiry into media reports concerning the discipline and conduct of national team players during the England tour.

    PCB Media Director Amir Mir said in a statement on social media that the board had initiated an internal disciplinary inquiry following media reports regarding discipline and conduct, and the matter was currently being reviewed internally., the PCB deals with such matters through its normal procedures, with the inquiry being conducted under the board’s regulations.

    He added that all relevant individuals were being given due consideration during the process. The development came after major changes were made to Pakistan’s Test squad. The national team is currently playing the third and final Test against England in Birmingham.

    Following Pakistan’s defeat in the second Test, the PCB made changes to the national squad, replacing seven players, including Imam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Rizwan. The board also relieved head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed and bowling coach Umar Gul of their duties.

    Both coaches had worked with the team for only six matches. The PCB subsequently assigned white-ball coaches Mike Hesson and Ashley Noffke interim responsibilities with the national team.
