He is currently in the intensive care unit, with doctors reportedly investigating possible slight dehydration. Sources said Richie is being cautious and hopes to be discharged on Tuesday. Witnesses at the concert reportedly noticed that the singer appeared to be struggling towards the end of the performance.
During his final song, “All Night Long”, Richie asked his team to bring him a chair so he could sit while finishing the performance. The hospitalisation follows another health incident earlier this year. In June, Richie was taken to hospital by ambulance after falling ill onstage during a concert in St. Paul, Minnesota.
During that performance, Richie felt "dizzy" and "strange" before ending the concert early. Paramedics subsequently met him backstage and transported him to a hospital. Richie later returned to the stage following the June health scare, with his subsequent performances continuing as planned.
