LLAHORE —Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Muhammad Rizwan has sought guidance from the International Cricket Council’s Anti-Corruption Unit (ICC ACU) over the seizure and forensic examination of his mobile phone during an ongoing National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) inquiry., Rizwan submitted an online request through the ICC ACU portal, asking whether the ICC or England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) anti-corruption authorities were aware of or involved in the action taken against him.
He also sought clarification on whether requesting his mobile phone, transferring it from the United Kingdom to Pakistan and conducting its forensic examination were in accordance with the ICC Anti-Corruption Code. Rizwan further asked the ICC to clarify his responsibilities and the procedure he should follow regarding cooperation with anti-corruption authorities in the future.
Sources said the request was not intended as a complaint against any individual or organisation, but was made to seek clarification about the procedure followed in his case. The development comes amid an NCCIA inquiry involving Rizwan and fellow cricketer Imam-ul-Haq.

The agency has been conducting forensic examinations of their mobile phones as part of its investigation. Rizwan had earlier submitted a written response to the NCCIA, seeking clarification about the reasons for his summons, the alleged disciplinary violation and why his mobile phone had not been returned.
The Lahore High Court recently dismissed Rizwan’s petition challenging the NCCIA notices and directed him to respond to the agency’s notice.
