Protest demonstrations were held in Balochistan on August 22 and a sit-in will begin there from August 29. Accusing the rulers of robbing the pockets of the people, he said the Jamaat-e-Islami has exposed the ‘plunder’ of the rulers. He appealed to the public to go to the markets, take pictures and videos showing goods sold at high prices, and send a message to people to join the sit-in.

The social media storm will keep the rulers awake. Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman said that a list containing the signatures and names of millions of people will be prepared and presented to the whole world, the levy must be abolished, otherwise the government will fall.

He said the rulers are collecting heavy taxes, including levies, from the poor people, and more than 8,000 billion rupees have been collected in levies. He criticised IPPs and capacity payments in the electricity sector, saying that the government had entered into illegal agreements with IPPs.
